The defeat of the Aztecs led by Hernando Cortez's troops in the name of the Spanish Crown, had as a result the whipping out of the face of the Earth of one of the most advanced civilizations in the Americas, also this resulted into the Spanish taking over their territory and assimilating the local [population and implementing their own rules, culture, religion, and language, and making it a Spanish colony that over time became the country of Mexico.
