Ca(OH)₂ = Ca²⁺ + 2OH⁻

[OH⁻]=2c{Ca(OH)₂}

pH=14+lg[OH⁻]

pH=14+lg(2c{Ca(OH)₂})

pH=14+lg(2*0.0075)=12.18

When the equation ZnS+O ZnO+SO isbalanced the coefficientof O is<br> 1, 5, 3,or2
Flauer [41]
<span>ZnS + O --> ZnO + SO

Okay so first you have to count up the number of elements on each side of the equation. Your objective is to have the same number of each element on both sides.

Left Side:
Zn - 1
S - 1
O - 1

Right Side:
Zn - 1
S - 1
O - 2

Since there are two oxygens on the right side, you have to add a coefficient of 2 to the oxygen on the left side. The coefficient tells us that that element or molecule is being multiplied by the value of coefficient. Since we're adding a coefficient of 2 to the oxygen on the left side, there are now 2 oxygens on that side. Because that is the same amount of oxygen as on the right, the equation is now balanced.

Your final equation should look like this: </span>ZnS + 2O --> ZnO + SO

In conclusion, the answer is 2.

a container of liquid is sitting on the countertop. What happens to the temperature of the liquid as it evaporates
Archy [21]
When a molecule is going through any physical change, solid to liquid or liquid to gas, as it changes, the temperature remains constant. it does not increase or decrease, it stays at that temperature/.

For example, water evaporates/ boils at 100 C. if you are heating water to the point of boiling, it will remain 100 C until all the water evaporates. Once it becomes a gas, the temperature will continue to increase

A 52 gram sample of an unknown metal requires 714 Joules of energy to heat it from
ratelena [41]

Answer:  Approximately 0.267 \frac{\text{J}}{\text{g}^{\circ}\text{C}}

===================================================

Work Shown:

We have the following variables

  • Q = 714 joules = heat required
  • m = 52 grams = mass
  • c = specific heat = unknown
  • \Delta t = 82-30.5 = 51.5 = change in temperature

note: the symbol \Delta is the uppercase Greek letter delta. It represents the difference or change in a value.

Apply those values into the formula below. Solve for c.

Q = m*c*\Delta t\\\\714 = 52*c*51.5\\\\714 = 52*51.5*c\\\\714 = 2678*c\\\\2678*c = 714\\\\c = \frac{714}{2678}\\\\c \approx 0.26661687826737\\\\c \approx 0.267\\\\

The specific heat of the unknown metal is roughly 0.267 \frac{\text{J}}{\text{g}^{\circ}\text{C}}
