Riley’s family is putting a rectangular pool in his backyard. The dimensions of the pool will be 12 ft. by 24 ft. by 5 ft.

I'm late by like 3 years but if you do the square's surface area, it would be 12*24=288*2=576

24*5=120*2=240

12*5= 60*2=120

Then add,

576+240+120=936, but again what the person said its a pool, so you wouldn't really include the top bit in a pool because a pool has no lid to the top, so you could just do 936-288=648

The surface area not including the top of the pool would be 748 ft(not sure if the teacher want you to add square to the end of it or not) .so 12*5 is 60 ,*2 =120. 24*5 =120. 120*2= 240. 24*12=288. so 288+240+120=748 ft(this would be the surface area of the pool.so if you need the volume of concrete needed to make the pool times the needed with of the concrete by the area ∆make sure if the needed thickness needed is in inches turn the area from feet to inches by multiplying it by 12 )
