The correct answer is A) Affirmative action programs benefiting minorities are restricted.

The statement that best completes the diagram is “affirmative action programs benefiting minorities are restricted.”

In the United States government, the concept of Affirmative action means the efforts to improve educational and employment opportunities for minority groups in the society as well as women. This Affirmative action tries to reduce the discrimination that exists against minorities and women and help them to fully integrate into all aspects of society.

Lyndon B- Johnson was the President that introduced Affirmative action with the idea of helping African Americans to get better opportunities to improve their lives.

Affirmative action programs benefiting minorities are restricted.(A)

Further Explanations:

Fourteenth Amendment act implemented in 1868 in the United States’ Constitution grants civil constitutional rights and citizenship to African Americans and slaves liberated after the Civil War. The Amendment was acknowledged on 9th July 1868, as the significant measures after Reconstruction. Out of all acts implemented, it confirmed the civil liberty and assurance of the legislation to the African Americans and all other citizens.

The act acted as the lifeline for the implementation of the Affirmative Action Plan that laid effort on the improvement of education and the social well-being of African Americans. The plan was proposed by President Lyndon B Johnson, with the intention of improving the lives of African Americans.

The act also operated as the lifeline in many cases which would have been dismissed in the absence of the act. Such cases like Brown v. Board of Education concerning ethnic insight, Roe v. Wade concerning abortion, and Oberg Fell v. Hodges concerning bi-sexual wedding.
