Answer:

Hello There. ☆~°|---__€○€__---|°~☆ The answer to this is...Gorbachev's reforms reversed totalitarian policies that had rewarded silence and discouraged individuals from acting on their own. Glasnost encouraged a free flow of ideas and information and allowed public criticism of government economic policies. Perestroika gave local farm and factory managers greater authority and allowed individuals to own small private businesses. Democratization loosened the Communist Party's control on society and politics. Citizens turned to other reformers who promised faster and even greater changes. Communist hard-liners tried to undo Gorbachev's reforms, but their August coup resulted in the collapse of the Communist Party. Nationalist groups that had been demanding self-rule now declared independence.

NISA [10]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Why is it that we do not see similar grocery stores in these areas as we do in more rural communities?

Because in modern and larger cities, supermarkets have a strict quality control system to take care of the food and always offer healthy food choices to consumers. The Federal and Drug Administration (FDA) is very strict about this issue.

As a result, what does this do to the health and well-being of the thousands of people living in that community?

These people who live in rural America have major health risks due to the condition and quality of the food they eat.

Food Deserts are considered places where poor people do not so many options about the kind of food they get and the quality of the food. They exist in the first place because poor people do not have the means to get a variety of nutritious food for their families. We can improve the situation for generations to come creating the kind of programs that allow all the people to get access to nutritious food at affordable prices, under the healthy conditions needed to keep the food safe and free of germs.

What does the recollection by John McCoy suggest about the changes in freedom of African Americans following the Civil War?
Alexeev081 [22]

From his recollections, McCoy remembers the years after the Civil War, describing how there weren't many differences between his life as a freedman and a slave. Even though slavery was abolished, it is observable in the interview that there were few guarantees to exercise liberty, hence being uneducated, dependence on former slavemasters and disinterest on political issues were some of the aspects that led McCoy to conclude that changes weren't that visible.
