A carpenter has s wooden dowel that is 72cm long. She wants to cut into two pieces so that one piece is 5 times as long as the other. What are the lengths of the two pieces?

It's 12 and 60
Call (n) is the first piece of wooden, so the second piece of wooden is 5n.
=> n + 5n = 72 
=> 6n = 72 
=> n = 12
The first piece is 12 and the second piece is 60.
