charle [14.2K]

Answer:

The state that was most critical for the movement of Buddhism into Central Asia (and, consequently, East Asia) was the Mauryan Empire.

Explanation:

The last grand emperor of the dynasty, Asoka (reigned 265-238 BCE), converted into Buddhism. Afterwards, he promoted the spread of Buddhist teachings and influence, building stupas, monasteries and pillars throughout the empire. In his newly conquered lands, he promoted Buddhism. Thanks to his patronage, Buddhism turned into a major religion in India and beyond its borders.

The Native American response

The other major players in this struggle for control of North America were, of course, the American Indians. Modern historians no longer see the encounters between Native Americans and Europeans through the old lens in which “discoverers of a New World” find a “wilderness” inhabited by “savages.” Instead they see a story of different cultures interacting, with the better-armed Europeans eventually subduing the local population, but not before each side had borrowed practices and techniques from the other and certainly not according to any uniform plan.
