Answer:

Selectively permeable or semipermeable means specific substances are allowed to pass through the plasma membrane.

Explanation:

The plasma membrane is selectively or semipermeable in nature because the plasma membrane allow only specific molecules such as nonpolar substances or hydrophobic substances such as steroidshormone to pass through it and prevent the passage of polar solute molecules such as water,glucose.

   To transport these polar solutes across the membrane an additional protein is needed in case of transport of water channel protein is needed whereas in case of glucose transport carrier protein is required.

Why is it important to conserve forests around the world
Vikentia [17]
The conservation of forests is vital to our ecosystems, because they provide sustainable amounts of habitat for animals, who live in them. On top of that, forests provide us with a large amount of oxygen. Trees go through photosynthesis, in which they take in carbon dioxide out of our air, and give back oxygen which is vital for all living things. All that being said, conserving trees helps regulate climate control, and overall helps us have healthy ecosystems.

Solve the problem 2x-y=16<br> 4x-y =2
faust18 [17]

Answer:

Subtract 4x4x from both sides of the equation.

y=16−4xy=16-4x

2x+3y=−22x+3y=-2

Replace all occurrences of yy in 2x+3y=−22x+3y=-2 with 16−4x16-4x.

y=16−4xy=16-4x

2x+3(16−4x)=−22x+3(16-4x)=-2

Simplify 2x+3(16−4x)2x+3(16-4x).

Tap for more steps...

y=16−4xy=16-4x

−10x+48=−2-10x+48=-2

Solve for xx in the second equation.

Tap for more steps...

y=16−4xy=16-4x

x=5x=5

Replace all occurrences of xx in y=16−4xy=16-4x with 55.

y=16−4⋅5y=16-4⋅5

x=5x=5

Simplify 16−4⋅516-4⋅5.

Tap for more steps...

y=−4y=-4

x=5x=5

The solution to the system of equations can be represented as a point.

(5,−4)(5,-4)

The result can be shown in multiple forms.

Point Form:

(5,−4)(5,-4)

Equation Form:

x=5,y=−4x=5,y=-4

4x+y=16,2x+3y=−24x+y=16,2x+3y=-2
