What would be the resulting molaritybof a solution made by dissolving 17.8 g of LiF in enough water to make a 915-millimeter sol
Sati [7]
Answer: Molarity of solution is 0.751 M.

Reason:
Given: weight of solute (LiF) = 17.8 g, volume of solution = 915 ml = 0.915 l

We know that,
Molarity = \frac{\text{weight of solute (g)}}{\text{Molecular weight X Volume of solution(l)}}

Molecular Weight of LiF = 25.9 g/mol.

∴, Molarity = \frac{17.8}{25.9X0.915}
                 = 0.751 M

What is the volume of an 2.3 solution with 212 grams of calcium chloride dissolved in it
Travka [436]

830 mL. A 2.3 mol/L solution of CaCl2 has a volume of 830 mL

I am guessing that the concentration of your solution is 2.3 mol/L.

a) Moles of CaCl2

MM of CaCl2 = 110.98 g/mol

Moles of CaCl2 = 212 g CaCl2 x (1 mol CaCl2/110.98 g CaCl2)

= 1.910 mol CaCl2

b) Volume of solution

V = 1.910 mol CaCl2 x (1 L solution/2.3 mol CaCl2) = 0.83 L solution

= 830 mL solution

PLEASE I NEED HELP ASAP!!!!
miv72 [106K]

The percent yield of the calcium hydroxide is 84.5%.

What is stoichiometry?

Stoichiometry enables us to obtain the mass of a substance form the equation of the reaction.

The equation of the reaction is;

CaCO3 + 2HCl -----> CaCl2 + CO2 + H2O

Number of moles of X = 40.0 grams/100 g/mol = 0.4 moles

Number of moles of HCl = 850/1000 * 1 M = 0.85 moles

If 1 mole of CaCO3 reacts with 2 moles of HCl

0.4 moles of  CaCO3 reacts with  0.4 moles  * 2 moles/1 mole

= 0.8 moles of HCl

Hence X is the limiting reactant.

The reaction is 1:1 then the amount of CO2 produced is 0.4 moles

Mass of CO2 = 0.4 CO2 * 44 g/mol = 17.6 g

2) The reaction equation is; 2NaOH + CaCO3 --->  Ca(OH)2 + Na2CO3

Number of moles of X = 25.0 grams/100 g/mol =  0.25 moles

Number of moles of NaOH= 40/1000 L * 2 M = 0.08 moles

If 1 mole of X reacts with 2 moles of NaOH

0.25 moles  reacts with   0.25 moles   * 2 moles /1 mole

= 0.5 moles

NaOH is the limiting reactant

2 moles of NaOH produces 1 mole of CO2

0.08 moles of NaOH produces 0.08 moles * 1 mole/2 moles

= 0.04 moles of CO2

Theoretical yield of CO2 =  0.04 moles of CO2 * 74 g/mol = 2.96  g

Percent yield = 2.5 g/ 2.96  g * 100

= 84.5%

Why is the Lithium ion (Li+1) stable even though it does not have an octet?
Elan Coil [88]
I think Lithium, an alkali metal with three electrons, is also an exception to the octet rule. Lithium tends to lose one electron to take on the electron configuration of the nearest noble gas, helium, leaving it with two valence electrons. There are two ways in which atoms can satisfy the octet rule
Hope this helps pls mark as the brainliest answer
