<u>Step 2:  Combine like terms </u>

2c + 14 - 18x + 4/5

Emily needs enough Fabric for 3 1/2 hats. Since she has half a hat done. If each bag requires 1 2/7 ft of Fabric, how much fabri
kow [346]

first off let's convert the mixed fractions to improper fractions.

\stackrel{mixed}{3\frac{1}{2}}\implies \cfrac{3\cdot 2+1}{2}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{7}{2}} ~\hfill \stackrel{mixed}{1\frac{2}{7}}\implies \cfrac{1\cdot 7+2}{7}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{9}{7}}

she already did half a hat, so we can say   \cfrac{7}{2}-\cfrac{1}{2}\implies \cfrac{7-1}{2}\implies 3

so she only needs enough fabric to make 3 more full hats, we know each one uses 9/7 ft, so

3\cdot \cfrac{9}{7}\implies \cfrac{27}{7}\implies 3\frac{6}{7}

What is the distance around a triangle that has sides measuring 2 1/8 feet, 3 1/2 feet, and 2 1/2 feet?
Alex787 [66]
Hi!
A is the answer:⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬⏬

The distance around a triangle, better noun as de "perimeter of a triangle"

is the total distance around the outside, which can be found by adding together the length of each side.

Perimeter (P) = Length A + Length B + Lenght C

In this case, we know that each side measure 2 \frac{1}{8}81 feet, 3 \frac{1}{2}21 feet, and 2 \frac{1}{2}21feet  but we have to rewrite each one of this mixed fractions as improper fractions:

2 \frac{1}{8}81 = \frac{16 + 1}{8}816+1 = \frac{17}{8}817

3 \frac{1}{2}21 = \frac{6 + 1}{2}26+1 = \frac{7}{2}27

2 \frac{1}{2}21 = \frac{4 + 1}{2}24+1 = \frac{5}{2}25

Then we just add all of them to find the perimeter:

 = \frac{17 + 28 + 20}{8}817+28+20 = \frac{65}{8}865

A: The distance around a triangle is \frac{65}{8}865feet

The students at Norton School were asked to name their favorite type of pet. Of the 430ilar results, about students surveyed, 25
elena-s [515]

Answer: 60

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question, we are informed that 430 students were surveyed and 258 said that their favorite type of pet was a dog. The fraction/decimal of those that chose dog as their favorite pet will be:

= 258/430

= 3/5

= 0.6

Suppose that only 100 students were surveyed, the number of students that would say that a dog is their favorite types of pet will be:

= 0.6 × 100

= 60
