Your answer is the first option, x equals negative B times y minus C all over A.

To answer this it would be helpful to rearrange the equation to get it in the form “x =“:
Ax + By = -C
Ax = -C - By
x = (-C - By)/A
which we can also write as
x = (-By - C)/A

So now that we know what x equals we just have to write it in word form. We can see that both B and C are negative, which rules out all of the options except for the first one.
This is because in the second option, it says “plus C”, which implies C is positive.
In the third option, it says “the quantity B” instead of “the quantity negative B”, which implies that B is positive. This is also true for the last option.

This means that the first statement is the only one that could be true, so that’s the answer.
I hope this helps!

Answer:

\large\boxed{x=\dfrac{-By-C}{A}}

<h3>x equals the quantity negative B times y minus C all over A</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

Ax+By=-C\qquad\text{subtract}\ By\ \text{from both sides}\\\\Ax+By-By=-By-C\\\\Ax=-By-C\qquad\text{divide both sides by}\ A\neq0\\\\\dfrac{Ax}{A}=\dfrac{-By-C}{A}\\\\x=\dfrac{-By-C}{A}

andriy [413]

Answer:

The truck can not safely pass under the bridge

Step-by-step explanation:

The maximum height in inches is 149in.

12 feet times 12 inches = 144 in

144 +5 = 149in

If the truck is 162 inches than it would not be safe for it to pass under the bridge.

I hope this helps you!

A single six-sided fair die is tossed, what is the probability of obtaining a number greater than 4?
Alisiya [41]

Answer:

1/3 or 0.333333

Step-by-step explanation:

The question talks about a die that was tossed once and we are now asked to find the probability that it is a figure greater than 4

---A die has 6 faces with the numbers 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 one on each of

the six faces.Considering an unbaised die the probability of any of the faces to appear in a single roll is 1/6.

So, P(1)=P(2)=P(3)=P(4)=P(5)=P(6)=1/6

Now that numbers greater than 4 are 5 and 6

So it can be P(5) or P(6)= P(5)+P(6)=2/6 = 1/3 or 0.33333

Answer 1/3 or 0.33333
