Here's a little known but very useful factoid:
If they're inversely proportional,
then their product is constant.
Here's how to use it:
-- We're told that Y = 8 when X = 7.
So when y=8 and x=7, their product is 56 .
-- If Y REALLY varies inversely as X, then
their product is ALWAYS going to be 56.
-- So when Y=4, X= (56/4) = 14 .
X would be -2 to the second power
-2*-2^2 would give you 8 and 8-8 gives you 0

11-9 = 2
which means that 124= 2:1
124/2 = 62
so 62:0
now 11 x 62= 682
9 x 62= 558
so the ratio is 682:558
now 682 + 558 = 1,240
There are 1,240 total students in the school. 682 boys and 558 girls
It will be 1 because your multiplying it by 0

y=5(3)-2
