Answer:

1) 12.7 cm

2) 8580.24 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

given,

Radius of moon(Rm) = 1700 Km              Radius of Earth(Re) = 6350 km

Model radius of Moon(Mm) = 3.4 cm

2) Volume of earth model =\dfrac{(R_e)^3}{(R_m)^3}\times \dfrac{4}{3}\pi (M_m)^3

                                       = \dfrac{(6350)^3}{(1700)^3}\times \dfrac{4}{3}\pi (3.4)^3

                                       = 8580.24 cm³

1) radius of earth = \dfrac{R_e}{R_m}\times M_m

                        =  \dfrac{6350}{1700}\times 3.4

                        = 12.7 cm

Given the event "a die lands with a 6 on top", which of the following is the complement of this event? Choose the correct ans
Veronika [31]

Answer:

The die lands with a 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 on top ⇒ answer D

Step-by-step explanation:

- Complementary events are two outcomes of an event that are the

 only two possible outcomes

- The Complement Rule states that the sum of the probabilities of

  an event and its complement must equal 1

- P(A) + P(A') = 1

- Lets solve the problem

- The event A is:

  " a die lands with a 6 on top "

∴ P(A) = \frac{1}{6}

∵ P(A) + P(A') = 1

∴ \frac{1}{6} + P(A') = 1

- Subtract \frac{1}{6} from both sides

∴ P(A') = \frac{5}{6}

∵ The die has six numbers from 1 to 6

∴ The other numbers than 6 are 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 and 5

∴ The complement of event A is:

   " A die lands with 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 or 5 "

* The complement of the event is:

 The die lands with a 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 on top

Known facts:
A line shaft rotating at 250 rpm, a grinder shaft that turns at 1200 rpm diameter of grinder pulley is 5 inches.

1. Proportion equation
350/1200 = 5/x

2. Cross multiply
1200*5=250*x
x=(1200*5)/250 = (24*50*5)/(5*50) = 24
The big wheel diameter is 24 inches

X^2 - y^2 = 100
luda_lava [24]

Answer:

20

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's start by rewriting the second equation in terms of "x":

x+y=5

Subtract y from both sides:

x=5-y

Now, substitute "5-y" for "x" in the first equation:

(5-y)^2-y^2=100

Note that:

(a-b)^2=a^2-2ab+b^2

25-10y+y^2-y^2=100

Cancel out like terms:

25-10y=100

Subtract 25 from both sides:

-10y=75

Divide both sides by -10

y=\frac{75}{-10}=\frac{15}{-2}=-\frac{15}{2}

Now, substitute this value back into either of the equations to solve for x.

x+y=5\\x-\frac{15}{2}=5\\

Add 15/2 to both sides:

x=5+\frac{15}{2}\\x=\frac{10}{2}+\frac{15}{2}\\x=\frac{25}{2}

Now, find the difference:

x-y=\frac{25}{2}-(-\frac{15}{2})=\frac{25}{2}+\frac{15}{2}=\frac{40}{2}=20

I think we're not supposed to do more than 3 problems in one answer; certainly not five pages. Does the 1/3 mean there are 10 more to come?

I'll do the first page.
