Answer:

Carbon atom belong to the group 4 due to the presence of 4 electrons in the outermost shell. There are 6 proton, 6 electron and six neutron are present inside carbon atom. 2 electrons are present in the first shell and 4 electrons are present in the second shell. Atomic number of carbon atom is 6 while mass number of carbon atom is 12. Carbon has three isotopes i. e. C-12, C-13 and C-14. Isotopes are those substances which have same atomic number but different mass number.

How much chemical energy (stored as biomass) is available to primary consumers from 10,000 kcal of primary productivity?
atroni [7]
The answer is “d” (1,000 kcal). As the trophic level increases energy is decreases by 10 times that of the previous level. If a system has 10,000 kcal, then the primary consumer have 10 times less (10,000/10) which is 1,000 kcal. The secondary consumers have 100 kcal and the tertiary have 10 kcal. Only 10% of the energy at each trophic level goes on to the next.

What are two things that can be done to maximize the chances of recovering parasites from a fecal smear?
RideAnS [48]
<span>Sedimentation - uses solutions of lower specific gravity than the organisms, which concentrated in the sediment. This technique is recommended for general diagnostic laboratories because it is easy to perform and less prone to technical errors.

Flotation - this technique uses solutions of higher specific gravity than the parasitic organisms so the organisms float and the debris sinks producing a cleaner material while the disadvantage is that walls of cysts and eggs collapse that may blocking its identification.<span>
