Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

Length of rectangle = l

Width of rectangle = \frac{1}{3} of l - 1 = \frac{1}{3}l - 1 = \frac{l}{3} - 1

A. Expression for finding area of the rectangle:

Area of rectangle is given as length*width

Area = l(\frac{l}{3} - 1)

Or

Area = l*\frac{l}{3} - l*1

Area = \frac{l^2}{3} - l

b. Expression for finding perimeter:

Perimeter of rectangle is given as 2(Length + Width)

Perimeter = 2(l + (\frac{l}{3} - 1))

Or

Perimeter = 2(l) + 2(\frac{l}{3} - 1)

Perimeter = 2l + \frac{2l}{3} - 2)

c. Quotient of Perimeter divided by area:

2(l + (\frac{l}{3} - 1)) ÷ l(\frac{l}{3} - 1)

2(l + (\frac{l}{3} - 1)) ÷ \frac{l^2 - 3l}{3}

Change the ÷ to × and flip the fraction on your right upside down.

2(l + (\frac{l}{3} - 1)) * \frac{3}{l^2 - 3l}

2l + 2(\frac{l}{3} - 1) * \frac{3}{l^2 - 3l}

rodikova [14]
Your answer would be y= 5x/-4 - 3/-4 because you’ll move 5x to the other side of the equal sign then divide -4 to get y by itself

The u.s. dairy industry wants to estimate the mean yearly milk consumption. a sample of 16 people reveals the mean yearly consum
lidiya [134]
1-2. The best estimate for the population mean would be sample mean of 60 gallons. Since we know that the sample mean is the best point of estimate. Since sample size n=16 is less than 25, we use the t distribution. Assume population from normal distribution.

3. Given a=0.1, the t (0.05, df = n – 1 = 15)=1.75

4. xbar ± t*s/vn = 60 ± 1.75*20/4 = ( 51.25, 68.75)

5. Since the interval include 63, it is reasonable.
