You must solve for p, in order to solve for p you must move all the terms to equal p, so the equation is
2m + 2p = 16
first move the 2m, subtract the 2m from both sides
2m + 2p = 16 \\  - 2m \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  - 2m
the 2m and -2m cancel out and now your equation looks like
2p = 16 - 2m
now to leave p by itself you must divide by 2 on both sides as the 2 is being multiplies on the p (opposite)
\frac{2p}{2}  =  \frac{16 - 2m}{2}
now to put the answer is simplest form your answer is
p = 8 - m
which is the first answer choice

A car dealership is having a sale in which customers pay 85% of the retail price for a new vehicle. keith is buying a vehicle wi
mash [69]
First, we calculated the discounted price which would have been paid by Keith. That is the product of 85% and $36,000.
                                      ($36,000) x (85%) = $30,600
Then, after negotiating to pay 9% off the sale price, he will only need to pay 91% of the sale price. The new price would be,
                              ($30600) x (0.91) = $27846
Thus, Keith will only need to pay $27,846.

The owner of a football team claims that the average attendance at games is over 523, and he is therefore justified in moving th
USPshnik [31]

Answer:

C) There is not sufficient evidence to support the claim that the mean attendance is greater than 523.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let μ be the the average attendance at games of the football team

The claim: the average attendance at games is over 523

Null and alternative hypotheses are:

  • H_{0}: μ=523
  • H_{a}: μ>523

The conclusion is failure to reject the null hypothesis.

This means that <em>test statistic</em> is lower than <em>critical value</em>.  Therefore it is not significant, there is no significant evidence to accept the <em>alternative</em> hypothesis.

That is no significant evidence that the average attendance at games of the football team is greater than 523.
