Answer:

Quasi-experimental research design

Explanation:

A quasi-experimental research design is similar to an experimental research design. It involves the manipulation of an independent variable but without the random assignation of participants to groups. Maria's experiment manipulates the administration of calcium, but the participants are not randomly assigned to the age groups, as they are already five or ten years old before the experiment and thus cannot be randomly assigned.

Families as a whole tend to resist change and strive to preserve what is normal. True or false?
svet-max [94.6K]
First of all, it's not exactly clear what is "normal" - this changes from generation to generation and for example the traditional family used to be considered "normal" but now all other kinds of families are normal too.

Second, there is typically a big generational difference between family members, so it's hard to say that they function "as  a whole"

For these reasons I don't think this statement is true.

What is the main reason people choose to settle in one area and not in another
OleMash [197]

The main reason would be the environment because of the fact their population is so big, they need enough room for everyone. There's also the connection with having available food source within the environment when the people plan to settle in. There's also the idea of desirable climate which helps them with food sources and allows them to flourish instead of dying off.
