While the constitution is the law of the land it still lacked some things. The founding fathers knew that future government may take advantage of it, so they added the bill of rights and allowed for more amendments. The bill of rights which are the first ten amendments state that people have a freedom of speech and religion, the right to bare arms,the right to a fair trial ect. Other amendments provide for things like women suffrage.
The clergy felt that Anne Hutchinson was a threat to the entire Puritan experiment. They decided to arrest her for heresy. In her trial she argued intelligently with John Winthrop, but the court found her guilty and banished her from Massachusetts Bay in 1637.

Constitution of United States, the delegated powers of a federal government are
superior to the state laws in case when there is a clash between the two i.e.
State and Federal. However the states in their own frame can have the laws
which at no point contradict with the supreme Law of United States.</span>
