The image in the link shows two similar figures with same y-coordinates, but different x-coordinates.

Further, the x-coordinates of the LHS figure is the product of -1 and the x-coordinates of the RHS figure, and vice-versa.

Hence, the two images are a reflection of each other.

Since, y - coordinates remain same, the figures show reflection across the y-axis

Step-by-step explanation:

(1 +  \cos(x) )(1 -  \cos(x) )

1  -  \cos {}^{2} (x)

=  \sin {}^{2} (x)

b.

\frac{1}{ \cot {}^{2} (x) }  -  \frac{1}{ \cos {}^{2} (x) }

\frac{1}{ \frac{ \cos {}^{2} (x) }{ \sin { }^{2} (x) } }  -  \frac{1}{ \cos {}^{2} (x) }

\frac{1}{ \cot {}^{2} (x) }  -  \frac{   \csc {}^{2} (x)   {} }{ \cot {}^{2} (x) }

\frac{ -  \cot {}^{2} (x) }{ \cot {}^{2} (x) }

- 1

c.

\sec {}^{2} ( \frac{\pi}{2} - x ) )( \sin {}^{2} (x)  -  \sin {}^{4} (x))

( \csc {}^{2} (x) )( \sin {}^{2} (x)  -  \sin {}^{4} (x  )

\csc {}^{2} (x) ( \frac{1}{ \csc {}^{2} (x) }  -  \frac{1}{  \csc {}^{4}  (x) } )

1 -  \frac{1}{ \csc {}^{2} (x) }

1 -  \sin {}^{2} (x)
