We need to simplify by using mental math 275 + 180 + 120=.

First we need to find numbers that can add easly.

We have 180 and 120 there. Adding those numbers are easy because both has 0's in ones place.

So, we could just add 18 and 12 and put a 0 in ones place.

18+12.

In oder to add 18+12 by mental math, we can write 18 as 20-2 and 12 as 10+2.

We can add 20 and 10 easily that gives 30.

But we remain -2 and +2 there. -2+2=0.

So, we could write it as

18+12 = (20-2) +(10+2) = 20+10 -2+2 = 30+0=30.

Therefore, 180+120 = 300.

Now, 275 + 180 + 120 = 275 +300.

We know 275= 200 + 75.

So, 275+300 could be written as 200+75 +300.

Adding 200+300, we get 500.

Now adding 500+75, we get 575.

In simple way, we could write the steps..

275 + 180 + 120 = 275 + 300 = 275+300 = 575.

Answer: (1) d, f (2) c, d, f (3) e, f (4) a, b, c, d, f (5) e, f

Step-by-step explanation:

a) Natural Numbers: 1, 2, 3, ...

b) Whole Numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, ... (add zero to the Natural numbers)

c) Integers: ..., -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, ... (add negatives to the Whole numbers)

d) Rationals: Add terminating and repeating decimals to Integers.

************

e) Irrationals: Non-repeating decimals that are non-terminating. This is its own category so cannot be a Rational number or above.

f) Real Numbers: ALL of the above (a - e) are Real numbers.

1) -5.2 has a terminating decimal so it is a RATIONAL number.

2) -4 is below zero so is an INTEGER which means it is also a RATIONAL #

3) -4.3212... is a non-terminating decimal so it is an IRRATIONAL number

4) \sqrt4 = 2 is a NATURAL number which means it is also a WHOLE number, INTEGER, and RATIONAL number.

5) \sqrt7 is a non-terminating decimal so it is an IRRATIONAL number

Solve for x x^2-2x+1=0
Molodets [167]

Answer:

x=1

Step-by-step explanation:

By factoring, you'll compress the equation to (x-1)^2=0

Next take out the square: x-1=0

Now subtract one to the other side to get x! x=1

Hope this helps! :)
