Answer:

Melinda wrapped 5 pounds of fudge

Step-by-step explanation:

1 ounce = 0.0625 lb

Since melinda wrapped 80 pieces of fudge

1 piece of fudge = 1 ounce

80 pieces of fudge = 80 * 1 ounce

80 pieces of fudge = 80 ounce

Again, 1 ounce = 0.0625 lb

80 ounce = 0.0625 * 80

80 ounce = 5 lb

Therefore Melinda wrapped 5 pounds of fudge

Answer:

Melissa wrapped 5 pounds of fudge

Step-by-step explanation:

This is the correct question

Melinda donated fudge for the school bake sale. she wrapped 80 pieces of fudge. each piece of fudge weighed 1 ounce. how many pounds of fudge did melinda wrap?

In this question, we are asked to calculate the pounds of fudge wrapped by Melinda.

Firstly, we need to calculate the total weight of the fudge wrapped by Melinda in pounds.

From the question , we can identify that she wrapped 80 fudge with each of the fudge weighing 1 ounce each.

The total weight of all the fudge wrapped in ounces would be 80 * 1 = 80 ounces

Now, let’s convert this weight in ounces to pounds.

Mathematically, there are 16 ounces in a pound.

Hence, the weight in pounds of 80 ounces would be; 80/16 = 5 pounds

The answers are x=4 and y=323/2

1) 40/2x-3=8

Multiply both sides by 2x-3 to get rid of fraction

40= 8(2x-3)

Distribute 8

40= 16x-24

Add 24 to both sides

64=16x

Divide by 16

4=x

2) 2y-3/40=8

Multiply both sides by 40 to red rod of fraction

2y-3=320

Add 3 to both sides

2y= 323

Divide by 2

Y=323/2

Now just describe the differences in solving them
