A study was conducted to determine whether big-city and small-town dwellers differed in their helpfulness to strangers. In this

study, the investigators rang the doorbells of strangers living in New York City or small towns in the vicinity. They explained they had misplaced the address of a friend living in the neighborhood and asked to use the phone. The following data show the number of individuals who admitted or did not admit the strangers (the investigators) into their homes:
Helpfulness to Strangers
Admitted strangers into their home Did not admit strangers into their home

Big-city dweller 55 85 140
Small-town dweller 73 41 114
128 126 254

Required:
Do big-city dwellers differ in their helpfulness to strangers? Use α = 0.05 in making your decision.

I = $60, P = $750, r = 4%, t = ?. Find the amount of time
Anuta_ua [19.1K]

Answer:

The time required to  accumulate simple interest of $ 60.00

from a principal of $ 750.00  at an interest rate of 4% per year  is 2 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

  • Interest I = $60
  • Principle P =  $750
  • Interest rate r = 4% = 0.04

To determine

Time period t = ?

Using the formula

I = Prt

t = I / Pr

substitute I = $60, P = $750 and r = 0.04 in the equation

t = 60 / ( 750 × 0.04 )

t = 2  years

Therefore, the time required to  accumulate simple interest of $ 60.00

from a principal of $ 750.00  at an interest rate of 4% per year  is 2 years.

The sides of triangle ABC are 4.5feet 7.5 ft and 9 ft.The area is about 17 square feet. Explain how to use the are of triangle A
Nuetrik [128]
In order to get the area of a triangle using sides, the formula that we are going to use is Heron's formula. This is after from "Hero of Alexandria".
So here is the step by step process:
First, we calculate for s (half of the triangles perimeter) s = a+b+c divided by 2.
s = 6 + 10 + 12 / 2
s =28/2
s = 14
Now that we have the s, we can now calculate for the area.
A = square root of s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
A= square root of 14 x 8 x 4 x 2
A= square root of 896
A = 29.93
The area of triangle DEF is 29.93 square feet or 30 square feet. Hope this answer helps.
