Assume that the demand for tuna in a small coastal town is given by____ p = 700,000/ q^1.5 ; where q is the number of pounds of

tuna that can be sold in a month at p dollars per pound. Assume that the town's fishery wishes to sell at least 5,000 pounds of tuna per month. (a) How much should the town's fishery charge for tuna in order to maximize monthly revenue?

<span>it is given that p=750000/q^1.5
p'=-1125000q^(-2.5)<0
p and q is inverse of each other as p is decreasing with increasing of q.
and q  take the allowable least value=5000
charge= 750000/(5000)^1.5
=$2.12/lb
maximum revenue= 2.12(5000)= $23320
hope it helps

Answer:

<h2>The town't fishery should charges around $2 per pound.</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

Givens:

  • p=\frac{700,000}{q^{1.5} }; where q refers to the number of pounds of tune, and p refers to dollar cost per pound.

So, the problem is asking the total price is the town's fishery sells at leas 5,000 pounds. To solve this problem we just need to replace the given values in the expression:

p=\frac{700,000}{(5,000)^{1.5} }

p=\frac{700,000}{353,553.4}

p=1.98

Therefore, the town't fishery should charges around $2 per pound.

Monica opens a savings account with an initial deposit of $500. She earns 3.6% compound interest each quarter. How much would th
ExtremeBDS [4]

Answer:

P =500, r = 0.036, t = 5 , n=4

n=4 because we have a quarterly rate

After replace the values given we got:

A =500 (1+\frac{0.036}{4})^{4*5} = 598.127

If we round this answer to the nearest number we got approximately $598 after 5 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

For this case we can ue the compund interest formula for the future value given by:

A = P(1 +\frac{r}{n})^{nt}

Where P represent the initial amount , t the number of years and r the rate of interest on fraction. The value of n represent the number of times that the interest rate is compound in a year

For our case we have:

P =500, r = 0.036, t = 5 , n=4

n=4 because we have a quarterly rate

After replace the values given we got:

A =500 (1+\frac{0.036}{4})^{4*5} = 598.127

If we round this answer to the nearest number we got approximately $598 after 5 years.

Sue bought a pair of jeans and a shirt for $55.75. If the jeans cost $25.25, how much did she pay for the shirt?
givi [52]
Hey there!

In order to find the amount that Sue paid for the shirt, all you have to do is subtract the price of the jeans from the total amount that she paid for the jeans and the shirt.

55.75 – 25.25 = 30.5

Sue paid $30.50 for the shirt, making your answer A.

Hope this helped you out! :-)

The time Louis spends commuting to the gym can be represented by two expressions:
kakasveta [241]

Answer:

The expression that represents the total time Louis spends commuting to and from the gym each day is 8(x-2y)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the time Louis spends commuting to the gym can be represented by two expressions:

Time to gym: 2x-6y\hfill (1)

Time from gym: 6x-10y\hfill (2)

To find the expression that represents the total time Louis spends commuting to and from the gym each day :

The total time Louis spends commuting to and from the gym each day is equal to the sum of the Time to gym  and Time from gym

Total time Louis spends commuting to and from the gym each day=2x-6y+6x-10y

=8x-16y

=8(x-2y)

Therefore  Total time Louis spends commuting to and from the gym each day is 8(x-2y)

The expression that represents the total time Louis spends commuting to and from the gym each day is 8(x-2y)
