How long do representatives serve in<br> Articles of confederation
Triss [41]

Answer:

By the provision of Article 5 of the Articles of Confederation, Congress (House of Representatives and Senate) could not serve more than a six years term.

Explanation:

The Articles of confederation was written in 1771 and approved in 1781. The Articles of confederation which was the first constitution of America established an organ of government namely; the Legislature without an Executive organ. The Legislative organ of government is known as the Congress, made up of the House of Representatives and Senate.

It established a bicameral Legislative organ that had representatives from the 13 states at that time. Under the Articles, Congress got their powers from the powers directly delegated to them by the States. They could only function based on the delegated powers to appoint civil servants, declare war, take care of military affairs, etc.

The Articles of Confederation had its shortcomings, as it required more than 2/3 majority to pass a bill into law. The establishment of the United States Constitution ushered some reforms.

Is the Supreme Courts interpretation of the 14th Amendment and use of selective incorporation a
hram777 [196]

Answer and Explanation:

The 14th amendment cannot be a violation of the concept of federalism, as federalism is in accordance with the concepts covered in the Bill of Rights and only allows for the separation and sharing of powers between state and federal governments if this does not hurt the concepts covered by the Bill of Rights. These concepts are strengthened with the 14th amendment and for this reason, we should not consider that this amendment could harm the concept of federalism.

The ability of a state to create its own laws must be maintained even if people can move from one state to another, because this allows states to organize and maintain order in their territories, independent of their inhabitants. In this case, the individual who is moving from state to state must adapt to the laws of the territory, so that he/she can remain in the place.

Why was the issue of searching a person's property so important in the time before the American Revolution?
bazaltina [42]

First option: There was much theft occurring before the Revolution and unjustified search was the only way to reclaim goods.

The settlers in the "New World" responded to the strict mercantilist policies of the British Crown by smuggling and taking part in illicit trade. The British would attempt to impose revenue laws, but it was unsuccessful until British authorities made use of writs of assistance (general warrants; allowed the bearer to seize any prohibited goods, and etc).
