13-5m=4-6m show work please

Mathematics
1 answer:
Vesna [10]3 years ago
4 0
First subtract 4 from both sides
13 - 4 - 5m = - 6m

then simplify
9 - 5m = - 6m

add -5 to both sides
9 = - m

since a variable shouldn't be negative the answer should be
m = - 9

(I prefer having the variable on the left side)

Find the coordinates of point Q that is 2/3 of the way along the directed segment from R(-7,-2) to S(2,4)
Eva8 [605]

The coordinates of point Q that is 2/3 of the way along the directed segment from R(-7,-2) to S(2,4) is (\frac{-17}{5} ,\frac{2}{5} )

Explanation :

the coordinates of point Q that is 2/3 of the way along the directed segment from R(-7,-2) to S(2,4)

Apply section formula to find coordinates of point Q

(\frac{mx_2+nx_1}{m+n} , \frac{my_2+ny_1}{m+n} )

Ratio m:n is 2:3 and point R is (x1,y1) , point S is (x2,y2)

Substitute all the values inside the formula

(\frac{2(2)+3(-7)}{2+3} , \frac{2(4)+3(-2)}{2+3} )\\\\(\frac{-17}{5} ,\frac{2}{5} )

The coordinates of point Q is (\frac{-17}{5} ,\frac{2}{5} )

A market buys watermelons for $1.25 they want to make a 20% profit what should they charge for the watermelons
Serhud [2]

Answer: $1.50

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost price of watermelon = $1.25

Profit percent = 20%

Profit = Profit percent × Cost price

= 20% × $1.25

= 20/100 × $1.25

= 0.2 × $1.25

= $0.25

Selling price = Cost price + Profit

Selling price = $1.25 + $0.25

Selling price = $1.50

They should charge $1.50 for the watermelons
