Mean is also known as the average of the numbers. To find the mean, you have to add up all the numbers and then you have to divide by how many numbers there are.

For example, this is how you find the mean of the numbers:

59 64 52 41

Add 59, 64, 52, and 41

you get 216. Divide 216 by 4. You get 54.

So the mean of these numbers if 54.

Hope it helps.

Digiron [165]
Let the integers be x and x + 2, then
x + x + 2 = 3(x + 2) - 2x
2x + 2 = 3x + 6 - 2x
2x + 2 = x + 6
2x - x = 6 - 2
x = 4

Therefore, the integers are 4 and 6

A person standing d=145 centimeters from a mirror notices that the angle of depression from his eyes to the bottom of the mirror
Serggg [28]

The length of the mirror is 64.52 cm

<u>Explanation:</u>

Given:

Distance of the person from the mirror = 145cm

Angle of depression = 14°

Angle of elevation = 11°

Vertical dimension of the mirror = ?

For angle of elevation:

tan(11) = \frac{AB}{BO}\\ \\0.195 = \frac{AB}{145} \\\\AB = 28.275 cm

For the angle of depression:

tan(14) = \frac{BC}{BO} \\\\0.25 = \frac{BC}{145} \\\\BC = 36.25 cm

Total length of the mirror, AC = AB + BC

                                              = 28.275 + 36.25cm

                                              = 64.52 cm

Therefore, the length of the mirror is 64.52 cm

Julie is at the store buying groceries. She needs to get a quart of orange juice and some peaches. The quart of orange juice cos
nydimaria [60]

Answer:

f(x) is the total cost and x is the number of peaches.

We know that each peach costs $0.75.  This means the expression 0.75x represents the total cost of peaches; this makes x represent the number of peaches.

We also know that $2.25 is the cost of juice.  Adding it to the cost of peaches gives us the total cost; this means f(x) represents the total cost.
