The main purpose of a nociceptor is to respond to damage to the body by transmitting signals to the spinal cord and brain. There are two types of nociceptor: A delta fibres: activated by high threshold mechanoreceptors. thinly myelinated. Unmyelinated C-fibres: activated by polymodal nociceptors(PMN) and respond to intense mechanical stimulation, high temperatures and irritant chemicals.

The mrna codon CUU could mutate to C___ and still code for leucine, which could be a neutral mutation. What is the blank?
Lelechka [254]
A codon is a sequence of three bases found on the messenger RNA (mRNA) molecule which is translated to produce an amino acid. Each amino acid is coded by one or more specific codons. If the codon is changed through a mutation, the amino acid produced may be different. However, in this case, the other codons that produce Leucine are:

UUA, UUG, CUU, CUC, CUA and CUG

So the code CUU could mutate to CUC, CUA or CUG and leucine would still be produced.

<h3>What is fluoride?</h3>

Fluorides are compounds formed by combining fluorine with another material, usually a metal. Fluoride monofluorophosphate, sodium fluoride, and stannous fluoride are a few examples. (MFP fluoride).

Some fluorides exist naturally in soil, air, or water, though fluoride levels can vary greatly. Fluoride is present in almost all water. Fluoride can also be found in plant and animal foods.

Fluorides are absorbed into the bloodstream through the digestive tract once within the body. They circulate in the blood and tend to congregate in calcium-rich tissues such as the bones and teeth.
