Answer:

Percentage*used=\frac{100m}{n}\\ Percentage*left=\frac{100(n-m}{n}

Step-by-step explanation:

Normally wiht number you would just have to do a rile of thirds, but in this case you need to used the values and to think a little outside the box.

YOu knwo that the total number of gallons is "n".

And the used gallons is "m"

To calculate the percentage used you use the next rule of three and clear for "x".

\frac{n}{100} \frac{m}{x}\\ x=\frac{100m}{n}

so that would be the expression for gallons used, the remaining gallons expression would be (n-m), so we do the same rule of three but witht the remaining gallons expression:

\frac{n}{100} \frac{n-m}{x}\\ x=\frac{100(n-m}{n}

And that would be the expression for percentage of gallons left.

F(x)=-5x+2 and g(x)=1/2x+4 find f(g(12))
skad [1K]

Answer:

- 48

Step-by-step explanation:

If you want to learn more about this concept, it's called composition of functions.

First, you plug in g(x) as if it were x into f(x).

f(g(x))= -5 (1/2x + 4) + 2

= -5/2x - 20 + 2

= -5/2x - 18

Then, plug in the value given, as x.

= -5/2 (12) - 18

= -30 - 18

= - 48

I hope this helped!

Maren walks 3/5 miles in 24 minutes at a steady pace.  How long does it take her to walk 2 miles.
Ghella [55]
It would take Maren 80 minutes, or 1 hr and 20 min. Just divide the 24 minutes by the 3 in the numerator, then find out how many 1/5's it takes to get 2 and multiply that by what you got as your quotient

2/3=k
4/6=2/3=k
6/9=2/3=k
yes, proportional

y=kx
3=2k
1=2/3k
2/3 is answer

proprtional (2nd and 3rd)
graph is proprtional, first table is poroprtional
other ones are not
2nd picture is proportional, 3rd is not

(x,y), y is rise, x is run
unit rate is rise/run=15/6=5/2=2.5
unit rate is 2.5

unit rate is (1/2)/(2/5)=(1/2)(5/2)=5/4=1.25
unit rate is 1.25
