Answer:

In Young’s double-slit experiment using monochromatic light, the interference pattern consists of a central <u>MAXIMUM</u>.

Explanation:

In Young's double slit method of experiment we know that on the screen we have light of monochromatic source.

Due to this double slit system when light reaches to the screen there exist a finite path difference on the screen and which will create phase difference between two light reaches on the screen

It is given as

\Delta \phi = \frac{2\pi}{\lambda}(Path difference)

so here if path difference is zero due to two slits at the center of the screen

Then in that case

\Delta \phi = \frac{2\pi}{\lambda}(0) = 0

so we will have maximum intensity at the center of the screen when light will reach at the center of the screen.

What is the emf of this cell under standard conditions? Express your answer using three significant figures.
madreJ [45]

Complete Question

A voltaic cell utilizes the following reaction and operates at 298 K:

3Ce4+(aq)+Cr(s)→3Ce3+(aq)+Cr3+(aq).

What is the emf of this cell under standard conditions? Express your answer using three significant figures.

Answer:

The value is E^o_{cell}  = 2.35 V

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The ionic equation is

               3 Ce^{4 +}  _{(aq)}  +  Cr _{(s)}  \to  3 Ce^{3+} _{(aq)}  +  Cr^{3r}  _{(aq)}

Now under standard conditions the reduction  half reaction  is

      Ce^{4+}  + e \to Ce^{3+}  ; \ \ E^o_r  =  1.61 V

And the oxidation half reaction is

      Cr^{3+}  +  3e^{-}  \to  Cr ; \    \  \  E^o_o  =  - 0.74 V

The emf of this cell under standard conditions  is mathematically represented as

     E^o_{cell}  =  E^o _r -  E^o _o

substituting values

     E^o_{cell}  =  1.61  - (- 0.74)

    E^o_{cell}  = 2.35 V

A 1,155 kg truck has a velocity of 18 m/s. What is the momentum of the truck?
77julia77 [94]

The momentum of truck is 20790 kg m/s

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Given that we have to find the momentum of truck

From given, 1155 kg truck has a velocity of 18 m/s

Therefore,

Mass = 1155 kg

Velocity = 18 m/s

<em><u>The momentum is given by formula:</u></em>

p = m \times v

Where, m is mass in kg and v is velocity in m/s

Substituting the values we get,

p = 1155 \times 18\\\\p = 20790

Thus momentum of truck is 20790 kg m/s

What is the difference between the parts of the plot with positive slope and the parts with negative slope?
zalisa [80]

The difference between the parts of the plot with positive slope and the parts with negative slope can be found below.

<h3>What is a slope?</h3>

A slope in a graph is the ratio of the vertical and horizontal distances between two points on a line. Slope shows both steepness and direction of values.

A slope can either be positive or negative depending on the relationship between the variables being plotted.

A positive slope means that the variable are directly related while the negative slope means that two variables are negatively related.

A positive slope further means that the line moves upward when going from left to right on the graph while with the negative slope, the line moves down when going from left to right.
