All living organisms contain a certain number of chromosomes that make up their genetic composition. This genetic composition is the organism's GENOME. Genome refers to the total and complete set of genes or genetic content in the cell of an organism. Human beings are diploid organisms that contains a total of 23 pairs of chromosomes with each pair contributed by each parent.
These 23 pairs of chromosomes or 46 chromosomes present in the nucleus contains all the DNA, genes and nucleotide sequences of a human cell, hence, it accounts for the total genetic makeup of humans. This means that the 23 pairs of chromosomes contained in the cell of a human makes up our genome.
The 46 chromosomes or 23 chromosome pairs make up a person’s genome.
A genome is a genetic information that all living organisms have.
A genome will consist of DNA - which is a type of molecule that carries the information regarding the development, growth, reproduction, and functioning of an organism.
