. A solid metallic cylinder of diameter 12 cm and height 15 cm is melted and recast into toys in the shape of a right circular c

one mounted on a hemisphere as shown in the figure. If radii of the cone and hemisphere are each equal to 3 cm and the height of the toy is 7 cm, calculate the number of such toys that can be formed.

Answer: 18

Step-by-step explanation:

Diameter of cylinder = 12 cm

Radius = 6 cm

Height = 15 cm

Volume of a cylinder = πr^2h

= π x 36 x 15 cm^3

Volume of toy = volume of cone + volume of hemisphere

1/3πr^2h + 2/3πr^3

1/3πr^2 (h + 2r)

1/3π x 3 x 3 (4 + 2 x 3)

= 30π cm^3

Therefore, no of toys =

Volume of cylinder / volume of toy

36 x 15 x π / 30 x π

= 18

Explain why a polar curve is not always bounded.
Scrat [10]

Answer: There are lots of common polar curves that are bounded therefore a polar curve is not always bounded all the time. A polar curve is required to have an unbounded function (right side of r = f(Θ)) to be an unbounded polar. An example of an unbounded curve would be r = Θ for 0 ≤ Θ.

I NEED HELP WITH THIS QUESTION!!!!
Firdavs [7]

Answer:

  see attached

  (x, y) = (8, 4)

Step-by-step explanation:

The relations given in the problem statement let you write two equations. One for the number of shots, and one for the number of points. The variables x and y are defined in the problem statement.

  x + y = 12 . . . . . total number of shots

  x + 2y = 16 . . . . total number of points

__

These equations are easily plotted by considering their x- and y-intercepts. The x-intercepts of the equations are found when y=0, so are 12 and 16, respectively.

The y-intercepts are found when x=0, so are 12 and 8, respectively. The two lines are shown in the attached. The first is blue; the second is red. Their point of intersection at (x, y) = (8, 4) is circled.
