Answer: Option (2) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

A mixture is a substance that contains two or more different substances mixed together.

A mixture can be homogeneous and heterogeneous mixture.

When the solute particles are uniformly dispersed into the solvent then it is known as a homogeneous mixture.

Whereas when the solute particles are non-uniformly dispersed into the solvent then it is known as a heterogeneous mixture.

On the other hand, a solution contains even distribution of dispersed particles   into the dispersion medium. A solution is a clear solution.

A compound is a substance that contains two or more different atoms which are chemically combined together. Whereas an element contains atoms of only one type.

Thus, we can conclude that mixture is the term that refers to matter that could be heterogeneous.

Mixture. Mixtures can be both heterogeneous and homogeneous. Heterogeneous mixtures are mixtures that don't have a fixed composition, meaning that if you take smaller samples from two different parts of a larger sample, the ratios of the substances will differ.

why do elements in the same group have similar properties and how does this affect bonding capabilities ?
Alina [70]
Elements in the same group have the same amount of electrons, this affects bonding because it determines how much the element will "want" to form a covalent bond.
