Answer:

Chlorofluorocarbon ( CFC )

Explanation:

Chlorofluorocarbon ( CFC ) is halogenated paraffin hydrocarbon that consists of carbon, hydrogen, fluorine and chlorine. It is derivative of methane, ethane and propane. It was used as refrigerant and propellant in aerosol cans. It triggers ozone depletion hence its manufacture has been stopped under Montreal Protocol and it has been replaced with other hydro fluorocarbons.

UV light on striking a CFC molecule in upper atmosphere, breaks the carbon chlorine bond which produces a chlorine atom. This chlorine atom reacts with an ozone molecule and destroys it. Hence, CFC damage the ozone layer of the Earth.

Answer:

An antelope trots through the grasslands at a velocity of 2 m/s. Suddenly, a lion begins to chase the antelope. If the antelope accelerates at a rate of 2 m/s2, what is the antelope's final velocity after 5 seconds?

10m/s

Explanation:

A= v/t

A= Acceleration

V= Velocity

T= Time

2=v/5

v=10m/s

A population of wild-flowers was scored for flower color. There were 302 blue (BB) plants, 1857 violet (BR) plants and 811 red (
Paul [167]

Answer:

frequency of the blue (B) allele = 0.4142

frequency of the red (R) allele = 0.5858

The number of blue plants expected is 509.652

The number of red plants expected is 1019.304

The anticipated number of violet plants is 1441.341

Calculated chi square value

= 84.5320 + 42.5688 + 119.8692\\= 246.97

Explanation:

Frequency of blue allele is

Frequency of blue allele is equal to sum of frequency of BB and half of frequency of BR

\frac{302}{2970} + \frac{1}{2} \frac{1857}{2970} \\= 0.1016 + 0.3126\\= 0.4142

Frequency of other allele

1- 0.4142\\= 0.5858

Chi Square test

See the attached file

The number of blue plants expected is 509.652

The number of red plants expected is 1019.304

The anticipated number of violet plants is 1441.341

Calculated chi square value

= 84.5320 + 42.5688 + 119.8692\\= 246.97

What are the use of Land?
frutty [35]

Land use involves the management and modification of natural environment or wilderness into built environment such as settlements and semi-natural habitats such as arable fields, pastures, and managed woods. Land use by humans has a long history, first emerging more than 10 thousand years ago. It has been defined as "the purposes and activities through which people interact with land and terrestrial ecosystems and as "the total of arrangements, activities, and inputs that people undertake in a certain land type. Land use is one of the most important drivers of global environmental change.

Polysaccharide digestion and glycogen breakdown involve sequential cleavage from ________ ends of glucose polymers.
Alex787 [66]

Sequential cleavage from the non-reducing terminals of glucose molecules is required for both glycogen degradation and polysaccharides hydrolysis.

Why non-reducing end is selected for digestion?

A polysaccharide's non-reducing end is the one where an anomeric carbon participates in the glycosidic connection. The elimination of carbohydrate remnants one at a time out from the non-reducing terminal occurs during glycogenolysis and polysaccharides hydrolysis.

  • For example, several enzymes are involved in glycogenolysis in the liver and muscle.
  • An example of such an enzyme is glycogen phosphorylase, which catalyzes the successive dissociation of the alpha 1->4 glycosidic bond that connects two glucose molecules at a non-reducing terminal of glycogen. The last glucose residue is eliminated as alpha-D-glucose 1-phosphate.

That is why non-reducing end of glucose is chosen for digestion or breakdown of the carbohydrate polymer.
