Explain how Co2 is able to control fires?

Carbon dioxide is heavier than oxygen gas. It therefore displaces the oxygen gas around a flame. Without oxygen, the combustion reaction will stop and the flame will be put out.

Further Explanation:

In order for a combustion reaction to happen, three components must be present: fuel, oxygen, and heat to cause ignition. When one of these three is removed, the combustion reaction will stop.

CO2 fire extinguishers use the difference in mass of the CO2 and oxygen molecules to stop the fire. Since CO2 is heavier, it will displace any oxygen molecules that are around the flame. When this happens, the supply of the oxygen will be limited or cut-off and the fire will eventually be put out because of the lack of oxygen. This ability to displace oxygen is also what makes using CO2 as fire extinguisher quite dangerous for the user since it pushes away the oxygen that is needed for respiration.

Other ways to put out fire include spraying liquids that absorb the heat to avoid spreading the fire further or spraying substances that coat the fuel (flammable materials) to avoid contact with oxygen gas which can lead to further combustion.

What structure is required for an eukaryotic organism to be classified as an autotroph?
lara [203]

Answer:

Chloroplast

Explanation:

This organelle in cells indicates that an organism can harness energy from the sun and other abiotic factors like carbon dioxide to make their own ‘food’. Chroloplasts have chlorophyl piments that contains photosystems centers that harness energy from the sun for photosynthesis. This light energy from the sun is captured and transferred in chemical bonds of manufactured carbohydrates which are stored in the plants. These plants transfer this energy in an ecosystem when they are consumed by higher organisms in the food chain.

Which statement is the most accurate outcome criteria for the nurse to use when determining if a patient is responding appropria
BabaBlast [244]

Answer:

The statement that will show the best accurate criteria is patient's respiratory rate is 16 breaths/minute and blood pressure is 130/72 mm Hg.

Explanation:

Adrenergic drugs are drugs that cause the stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system, which is also known as adrenergic nervous system by performing or mimicking the activities of the epinephrine and norepinephrine, or interfering with their release.

It should be noted that, epinephrine and norepinephrine are also known as adrenaline and noradrenaline, this is because they are secreted by the adrenal gland, and this gives rise to the term adrenergic.

Examples of adrenergic drugs are phenylephrine, clonidine and oxymetazolin among others.
