Take 17100 divide by 100 the answer you get is the number of seats for 1% so to get 62%, multiply 17100/100 X 62 <span>the answer is certainly 45,000</span>

A researcher is interested in the lengths of brook trout, which are known to be approximately Normally distributed with mean 80
aliya0001 [1]

Answer:

P(X

And we can find this probability with the normal standard distirbution or excel and we got:

P(z

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The Z-score is "a numerical measurement used in statistics of a value's relationship to the mean (average) of a group of values, measured in terms of standard deviations from the mean".

Solution to the problem

Let X the random variable that represent the lenghts of a population, and for this case we know the distribution for X is given by:

X \sim N(80,5)

Where \mu=80 and \sigma=5

We are interested on this probability

P(X

And the best way to solve this problem is using the normal standard distribution and the z score given by:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

If we apply this formula to our probability we got this:

P(X

And we can find this probability with the normal standard distirbution or excel and we got:

P(z

Use the distributive property to solve the equation -4(x+3)=8
algol [13]

Answer:

x=-5

Step-by-step explanation:

-4(x+3)=8\\\\(-4)(x)+(-4)(3)=8\\\\-4x+(-12)=8\\\\-4x-12=8\\\\-4x-12+12=8+12\\\\-4x=20\\\\\frac{-4x}{-4}=\frac{20}{-4}\\\\x=-5

The population of a small town is decreasing by 2% per year. The population in the year 2017 was 3,850. A. By how many people wi
lesya692 [45]

Answer:

A. 77

B. 3,773

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the problem, computation of given data are as follows,

Population in 2017 = 3,850

Decrease rate = 2% per year

(A) We can calculate number of population decrease from 2017 to 2018 by using following formula,

Number of population decrease = Population in 2017 × Decrease rate

= 3,850 × 2%

= 77

(B). Total population in 2018 = 3,850 - 77

= 3,773
