It is false. These two formula will not give the same result.
22/2 x 5 = 11 x 5 = 55
22/(2 x 5) = 22 / 10 = 2.2
So, you see both have different answers.

What are the first five partial sums of the arithmetic sequence an = 0.05(n – 1) – 0.6?
Gnoma [55]
The sum of the arithmetic sequence given by
<span>an = 0.05(n – 1) – 0.6
will be given by:
a1=0.05(1-1)-0.6=-0.6
a2=0.05(2-1)-0.6=-0.55
a3=0.05(3-1)-0.6=-0.5
a4=0.05(4-1)-0.6=-0.45
a5=0.05(5-1)-0.6=-0.4
thus the summation will be:
-0.6+(-0.55)+(-0.5)+(-0.45)+(-0.4)
=-2.5
hence
S5=-2.5</span>

Kelvin rolls a dice twice. The first number he gets is 4. The sum of the two numbers is smaller than 8. Which number CANNOT be t
VLD [36.1K]

Answer:

5, 6

Step-by-step explanation:

When Kelvin rolls the dice twice, he can't get more than a 4 because if he did, the sum of the two numbers would be more than a 8. So, the numbers that cannot be the second number is 5 and 6.

Bumek [7]

Answer:

V(x)=(4x^{3}-40x^{2}+100x)\ cm^3

The domain for x is all real numbers greater than zero and less than 5 com

Step-by-step explanation:

<em><u>The question is</u></em>

What is the volume of the open top box as a function of the side length x in cm of the square cutouts?

see the attached figure to better understand the problem

Let

x -----> the side length in cm of the square cutouts

we know that

The volume of the open top box is

V=LWH

we have

L=(10-2x)\ cm

W=(10-2x)\ cm

H=x)\ cm

substitute

V(x)=(10-2x)(10-2x)x\\\\V(x)=(100-40x+4x^{2})x\\\\V(x)=(4x^{3}-40x^{2}+100x)\ cm^3

Find the domain for x

we know that

(10-2x) > 0\\10> 2x\\ 5 > x\\x < 5\ cm

so

The domain is the interval (0,5)

The domain is all real numbers greater than zero and less than 5 cm

therefore

The volume of the open top box as a function of the side length x in cm of the square cutouts is

V(x)=(4x^{3}-40x^{2}+100x)\ cm^3
