The triangle with legs x and y is a 30 - 60 - 90 triangle. The patterns of the legs are as follows:

short leg (opposite 30 degree angle) = 1 unit

long leg (opposite 60 degree angle) √3 units

hypotenuse = 2 units.

The pattern is that we double the short leg to get the hypotenuse, or, we go in reverse and take half the hypotenuse to get the short leg.

In the picture we are told the hypotenuse is 16. That makes the short leg as 8, which is x in the picture.

Now we find the long leg and multiply it by √3. This gives us 8√3., the side y.

Thus, x = 8 and y = 8√3.

A cylinder has a radius of 20 cm and a height of 2 cm. Find the height of another cylinder that has a radius of 4 cm and the sam
iogann1982 [59]

Answer:

The height of the another cylinder 'h' = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Explanation:-

Step 1:-

Surface area of the cylinder  = 2пrh + 2пr^2

Given radius of first cylinder is 20cm

given height of the first cylinder is 2 cm

The surface area of first cylinder is = 2пrh + 2пr^2

                                                          = 2п(20)(2)+2п(2)^2

                                                          = 4п(20+2)

The surface area of first cylinder is 88п

Step 2:

given data The surface area of first cylinder is 88п is same as second cylinder also

Find the height of the second cylinder

Given Radius of the second cylinder r = 4

Surface area of the cylinder  = 2пrh + 2пr^2 = 88п

                                                   2п(4)h+2п(4)^2 =88п

on simplification we get

                                   2п (4h+16) = 88п

after cancellation '2п' value and on simplification, we get

                                    4h+16 = 44

                                    4h = 44-16

                                  4h = 28

                                 h=7

Therefore the height of the another cylinder is 'h' =7

47/8 as a mixed number
tresset_1 [31]
47/8 is an improper fraction so we need to divide 47 by 8 to get an mixed number.
8 go into 47, 5 times  because 5*8 equals 40.
47-40 is 7 that is the left over.
5 7/8 is your mixed number.
