Why is it important to have different types of living things on earth?

Diversity helps us fight off diseases better because if we were all the same one disease could kill us all of but with diversity we have different immune systems and others which lets some fight the disease better than others. The ones who survive will repopulate making their offsprings more immune to the disease and it goes on and on...
