Answer:

The materials cost per equivalent unit for May is $3

Explanation:

The computation of the materials cost per equivalent unit is shown below:

= Total cost ÷ number of equivalent units

where,

Number of equivalent units = Opening work in progress units × completion units + added units × completion units +  ending work in progress units × completion units

= 3,000 units × 100% + 8,500 units × 100% + 1,500 units × 100%

= 3,000 units + 8,500 units + 1,500 units

= 10,000 units

and, the material cost is $30,000

Now put these values to the above formula

So, the cost per unit would equal to

= $30,000 ÷ 10,000 units

= $3

The material added = Finished goods units - opening work in progress units

                                = 11,500 units - 3,000 units

                                = 8,500 units

You just purchased some equipment that is classified as five-year property for MACRS. The MACRS rates are .2, .32, .192, .1152,
Deffense [45]

Answer:

b. $62,784

Explanation:

Depreciation is the expense of an asset due to physical wear and tear of the equipment.

Book value is the net of depreciation value. It is calculated after deducting the accumulated depreciation from the cost of the asset.

MACRS  = Cost x MACRS rate for the year

Year     MACRS    Depreciation    Balance

  0                                                  $218,000

  1            0.2           $43,600        $174,400

  2           0.32          $69,760       $104,640

  3           0.192        $41,856        $62,784

Opening Book value of next year is actually the closing book value of prior years.

A firm's bonds have a maturity of 14 years with a $1,000 face value, have an 8% semiannual coupon, are callable in 7 years at $1
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

YTM = 6.51%

YTC = 6.40%

Explanation:

We need to solve using excel goal seek or bond formulas to generate the yield (interest rate) which matches the future couponb and maturity payment with the current selling price of the bond:

Present value of the coupon

C \times \frac{1-(1+r)^{-time} }{rate} = PV\\

C 40.000 (1,000 x 8% / 2 payment per year)

time 28 (14 years x 2 payment per year)

rate 0.032529972 (generate using goal seek tool)

40 \times \frac{1-(1+0.0325299719911398)^{-28} }{0.0325299719911398} = PV\\

PV $727.8688

Pv of the maturity (lump sum)

\frac{Maturity}{(1 + rate)^{time} } = PV

Maturity   1,000.00

time   28.00

rate  0.032529972

\frac{1000}{(1 + 0.0325299719911398)^{28} } = PV

PV   408.06

PV c $727.8688

PV m  $408.0612

Total $1,135.9300

As this is a semiannual rate we multiply it by 2

0.032529972 x 2 = 0.065059944 = 6.51%

We repeat the procedure with changing the time and end-value to adjust for the callabe conditions:

C \times \frac{1-(1+r)^{-time} }{rate} = PV\\

C 40.000

time 14 (7 years x 2 payment per year)

rate 0.032015131

40 \times \frac{1-(1+0.0320151313225188)^{-14} }{0.0320151313225188} = PV\\

PV $445.6984

\frac{Maturity}{(1 + rate)^{time} } = PV

Maturity   1,073.00 (call price)

time   14.00

rate  0.032015131

\frac{1073}{(1 + 0.0320151313225188)^{14} } = PV

PV   690.23

PV c $445.6984

PV m  $690.2316

Total $1,135.9300

Againg his will be a semiannual rate so we multiply by two:

0.032015131 x 2 = 0.064030263 = 6.40%

A promotional tool in which a company lets consumers have a small sample of a product for no charge is known as?
ioda

Sampling is the promotional tool in which a company lets consumers have a small sample of a product for no charge.

Sampling is a process utilized in statistical evaluation wherein a predetermined wide variety of observations are taken from a bigger populace. The method used to pattern from a bigger populace depends on the form of evaluation being accomplished, but it can encompass easy random sampling or systematic sampling.

The number one intention of sampling is to create a consultant sample, one wherein the smaller institution (sample) appropriately represents the traits of the bigger group (population). If the pattern is properly decided on, the sample can be generalizable to the populace. there are many methods to attain a sample.

There are most important forms of sampling methods – possibility and non-opportunity sampling. Chance sampling, also known as random sampling, is a form of sample selection in which randomization is used rather than planned desire.
