Answer:

#1:

What is Carl’s constant rate of speed (in miles per hour)? <u>12 mph</u>

How many miles will Carl have traveled after 2 hours? <u>24 Miles.</u>

#2

What is the slope of this line? <u>-4</u>

What is the value of <em> y </em>when <em>x</em> = 3? <u>y = 22</u>

#3

What is the rate (in dollars per ticket)? <u>15/1 | $15 per ticket</u>

How much money will the theater earn if it sells 150 tickets? <u>$2250</u>

#4

What does the point (30, 60) mean?  (Hint: What is being graphed on the x-axis? What is being graphed on the y-axis?) <u>(30,60) is equal to x=30 and y=60.</u>

If Karen uses her cell phone for less than 30 hours a month, which company should Karen choose?  Why?

I think that Karen should use Company K because if she uses Company J, there would already be an extra fee of $30 from the monthly payment. Instead, Company K doesn’t  have the monthly payment plan, but the hourly price is two times pricier but cheaper. To make it simple, let’s say Karen use her phone for about 25 hours for the whole month.

Company J: $30 + $25(1) = $55

Company K: 25(2) = $50

Write the following expression using the fewest possible terms.<br><br> (−2x − 13) + (19 + 5x)
MakcuM [25]

The rewritten form of the given expression using the fewest terms is; 3x + 6.

<h3>What is the rewritten form of.the expression using the least possible terms?</h3>

It follows from the task content that the given expression is to be rewritten using the fewest terms.

Since the given expression is;

( −2x − 13 ) + ( 19 + 5x )

By getting rid of the parentheses; we have;

-2x - 13 + 19 + 5x

By collecting like terms; we have;

-2x + 5x - 13 + 19

3x + 6

Therefore, the required rewritten form of the given expression is; 3x + 6.

Answer:

They are similar by the definition of similarity in terms of a dilation

Step-by-step explanation:

The given vertices of triangle ΔABC are;

A(1, 5), B(3, 9), and C(5, 3)

The vertices of triangle ΔDEF are;

D(-3, 3), E(-2, 5), and F(-1, 2)

Therefore, we get;

The length of segment, \overline{AB} = √((9 - 5)² + (3 - 1)²) = 2·√5

The length of segment, \overline{BC} = √((9 - 3)² + (3 - 5)²) = 2·√10

The length of segment, \overline{AC} = √((5 - 3)² + (1 - 5)²) = 2·√5

The length of segment, \overline{DE} = √((5 - 3)² + (-2 - (-3))²) = √5

The length of segment, \overline{EF} = √((2 - 5)² + (-1 - (-2))²) = √10

The length of segment, \overline{DF} = √((2 - 3)² + (-1 - (-3))²) = √5

∴ \overline{AB}/\overline{DE} = 2·√5/(√5) = 2

\overline{BC}/\overline{EF} = 2·√10/(√10) = 2

\overline{AC}/\overline{DF} = 2·√5/(√5) = 2

The ratio of their corresponding sides are equal and therefore;

ΔABC and ΔDEF are similar by the definition of similarity in terms of dilation.

In rectangle PQRS, PR = 18x – 28 and QS = x + 380. Find the value of x and the length of each diagonal.
Flauer [41]

Diagonals of a rectangle are congruent.

18x - 28 = x + 380

Solving for x, I get 17.

So, x = 17.

PR = 18x - 28

PR = 18(17) - 28

PR = 278

QS = x + 380

QS = 17 + 380

QS = 397

For function of g,g(0)=1 and g(1)=5 assuming g is a linear function what is g(3)<br>
lawyer [7]

Answer:

g(3) = 13

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

g(0) = 1

g(1) = 5

Required

Find g(3)

Since g(x) is a linear function, then:

g(x) = mx + c

For: g(0) = 1

g(x) = mx + c

g(0) = m*0 + c

1 = 0 + c

1 = c

c = 1

For: g(1) = 5

g(x) = mx + c

g(1) = m * 1 + c

5 = m * 1 + c

5 = m + c

Substitute c = 1

5 = m + 1

m = 5 - 1

m =4

So, the function is:

g(x) = mx + c

g(x) = 4x + 1

Calculate g(3)

g(3) = 4*3 + 1

g(3) = 12 + 1

g(3) = 13
