Y=-x-13, they have the same slope but different y intercepts which mean they are parallel, and when graphed, the equation goes through (-9,-4). hope this helps :)

Slope-intercept form:  y = mx + b

(m is the slope, b is the y-intercept or the y value when x = 0 --> (0, y) or the point where the line crosses through the y-axis)

For lines to be parallel, they need to have the same slope.

y = -x - 6      The slope is -1, so the parallel line's slope is also -1.

Now that you know the slope, substitute/plug it into the equation:

y = mx + b

y = -x + b      To find b, plug in the point (-9, -4) into the equation, then isolate/get the variable "b" by itself

-4 = -(-9) + b  (two negative signs cancel each other out and become positive)

-4 = 9 + b     Subtract 9 on both sides to get "b" by itself

-4 - 9 = 9 - 9 + b

-13 = b

y = -x - 13

What is the probability that A occurs qiven that B occurs ?
madreJ [45]
Dependent events

A and B are dependent events. This means that the outcome of B affects the outcome of A.

We have that "the probability that A occurs given that B occurs" is symbolized by

P(A|B)

This is what we want to find.

We have that:

P(A): probability that event A occurs.

P(A) = 1/4

P(B): probability that event B occurs.

P(B) = 8/9

P(A&B): probability that both events A and B occurs.

P(A&B) = 1/5

We have that:

\begin{gathered} P\mleft(A\&B\mright)=P\mleft(B\mright)\cdot P\mleft(A|B\mright) \\ \downarrow \\ \frac{P(A\&B)}{P(B)}=P(A|B) \end{gathered}

Replacing in the equation:

\begin{gathered} \frac{P(A\&B)}{P(B)}=P(A|B) \\ \downarrow\text{ since }P\mleft(A\&B\mright)=\frac{1}{5}\text{ and }P\mleft(B\mright)=\frac{8}{9} \\ \frac{\frac{1}{5}}{\frac{8}{9}}=P(A|B) \end{gathered}

Since,

\frac{\frac{1}{5}}{\frac{8}{9}}=\frac{1}{5}\cdot\frac{9}{8}=\frac{9}{40}

Then

P(A|B)=\frac{9}{40}<h2>Answer: 9/40</h2>

Can someone please help me with this (thank you)
pickupchik [31]

Answer:

D. ( 3.6 , 2.2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

x + y = 5.8....equation 1

y = 2x - 5 ......equation 2

Putting equation 2 in equation 1

x + 2x - 5 = 5.8

3x = 5.8 + 5

3x = 10.8

Therefore x = 3.6

Now

y = 2 * 3.6 - 5

= 7.2 - 5

= 2.2

Hope it will help you.

Which is more 4feet or 48inches
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

4 feet = 48 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

In one foot there are 12 inches and since we have 4 of them we multiply to find how many total inces there are:

4x12=48

If you wanted to check the other side of it you would divide 48 inches by 12 inches to find out how many feet you have:

48÷12=4
