We can write two equations based on the given information.

Jorge: 6C+ 2V = $127.92
Martin: 3C+8V = $133.89

Solving for V in Jorge's equation we get V= $63.96 - 3C
If we plug this into Martin's Equation we get 3C + 8($63.96 - 3C)=$133.89
This SImplifies to 3C + $511.68 - 24C = $133.89
Further simplification brings us to 21C = $377.79
C = $17.99

Plugging this into the original Equation we get 3($17.99) + 8V = $133.89
$53.97 + 8V = $133.89
8V = $79.92
V = $9.99

A water gauge in a pond measured 2358 in. At the beginning of the week. After five days of rain, the gauge read 3414 in. By how
V125BC [204]

Answer:

1056 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that :

Initial measurement = 2358 in

Guage level after 5 days of rain (final reading) = 3414 in

Change in water level rise :

Final reading - Initial reading

(3414 - 2358) in

= 1056 inches

Radical 8 plus radical 18
maxonik [38]

Answer:

5√2

Step-by-step explanation:

√8 + √18

We first have to find what is the largest perfect square that goes into √8:

4 is the largest, so therefore → √8 gives you 2√2:

Work: √4 * √2 → 2 * √2 → 2√2

Now we have to find what is the largest perfect square that goes into √18:

9 is the largest, so therefore → √18 gives you 3√2:

Work: √9 * √2 → 3 * √2 → 3√2

Because 2√2 and 3√2 have the same "base" of √2, they can be added together:

2√2 + 3√2 = 5√2 (The "bases" are to be left alone!)

Given: Quadrilateral PQRS is a rectangle. Prove: PR = QS
lord [1]

Answer:

Given: Quadrilateral P QR S  is a rectangle.

To prove :PR= Q S

Construction : Join PR and Q S.

Proof: In Rectangle PQRS, and

→ taking two triangles PSR and Δ QRS

  1. PS = Q R

  2.  ∠ PS R  = ∠ Q RS  [Each being 90°]

  3. S R is common.

→ ΔP SR ≅  Δ Q RS → [Side-Angle-Side Congruency]

∴ PR =Q S [ corresponding part of congruent triangles ]

Hence proved.
