To get the answer, we need to substitute 3 for y in the equation 2x + y = 0.
2x + 3 = 0
2x = -3
x = -3/2

The answer is (-3/2, 3)

(-1.5,3) Y=3 which is up 3 and a horizontal line and 2x+y=0 can be written as y=-2x so in order to get -1.5 you have to make y=3 cause y=3 and when you do that it should look like 3/-2=-2/-2x so x=-1.5

Find an ordered pair that is a solution to the equation.

3x - y = 8
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

There are so many order pairs that can solve this equation.

To solve this problem, we choose any value of x and find y;

  Given expression;

            3x  - y  = 8

if x  = 0,

           3(0) - y  = 8

                 -y  = 8

                 y = -8;

  (0,-8) is a solution

ii.

  if x  = 1,

          3(1) - y = 8

               - y = 8 - 3

                  y = -5

        (1, -5) is a solution

given triangle UVW is congruent to triangle TSR find the values of x (12x-7), y (5y-33), and z (3z+14)
timama [110]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the image attached. For two triangles to be congruent, then the sides of UVW is equal to that of TSR

From the diagram given

TR = UW

Given

TR = 50

UW = 3z+14

Equate and find z;

3z+14 = 50

3z = 50-14

3z = 36

z = 36/3

z = 12

VW = RS

Given

VW = 27

RS = 5y - 33

Equate

5y-33 = 27

5y = 27+33

5y = 60

y = 60/5

y = 12

Also TS = UV

TS = 53

UV = 12x+7

Equate:

12x-7 = 53

12x = 53+7

12x = 60

x = 60/12

x = 5

Hence x = 5, y = 12 and z = 12
