The main functions of inflammation or inflammatory response are to remove the cause of injuries in cell, get rid of damaged tissues and necrotic cells that might have been damaged during injury and initiate the repair of damaged tissues.

During inflammatory response certain symptoms like redness, heat/warmth, swelling and pain are most likely to be experienced.
