(x-h)²+(y-k)²=r² is the equation of a circle with radius of r

so if x-h=4 and y-k=3 then

4²+3²=r²
16+9=r²
25=r²
sqrt both sides
5=r
radius is 5 units

the variables Y and X have a proportional relationship and Y equals 12 when x equals 5 what is the value of y when x equals 8
Setler [38]

Answer:

Y = 19.2

Step-by-step explanation:

12 / 5 = 2.4

That gets you what y is when x = 1

2.4 * 8 = 19.2

This is figuring out what y is when x = 8

Please help me with these, find the missing side. Thank yu only if you know
abruzzese [7]

Answer:

7.48m (3s.f.)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the missing side be x m.

Applying Pythagoras' Theorem,

x² +5²= 9²

x² +25= 81

x²= 81 -25 <em>(</em><em>-25</em><em> </em><em>on</em><em> </em><em>both</em><em> </em><em>sides</em><em>)</em>

x²= 56

x =  \sqrt{56}

x = 2 \sqrt{14}

x= 7.48 (3 s.f.)

∴ The missing side is 7.48 m (3s.f.)

Solutions to equation x^2 + x - 30 = 12 using zero product property
Likurg_2 [28]

Answer:

Our solutions are x= -7 , x=6

Step-by-step explanation:

x²+x-30=12

First we calculate the constants:

x²+x-30-12=0

x²+x-42=0

Now split the middle term:

x²+7x-6x-42=0

x(x+7)-6(x+7)=0

(x+7)(x-6)=0

As we know that:

a.b=0

⇒either a=0 or b=0

(x+7)=0 , (x-6)=0

x=0-7 , x=0+6

x= -7 , x=6

So our solutions are x= -7 , x=6....
