Y-y1=m(x-x1)
for slope=m
a point =(x1,y1)

slope=2
point= (-1,3)
y-3=2(x+1)
y-3=2x+2
y=2x+5
test given points

A.
(1,5)
5=2(1)+5
5=7
false

B.
(1,4)
4=2(1)+5
4=7
false

C.
(-3,2)
2=2(-3)+5
2=-6+5
2=-1
false

D.
(0,5)
5=2(0)+5
5=0+5
5=5
true

answer is D

The answer would be D. If you graphed this line, you would find that one of the y intercept matches choice D. You can also put this into the slope-intercept equation which is y= 2x +5. So if you plug in the point (0,5), it will look like this:
5=2(0)+5. The 2 will be 0 so it ends up being 5=5 which is true for this line.

Write a linear function f with the given values. f(0) = -2,f(4) = -3
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Answer:

<em>f(x) = </em>-\frac{1}{4}<em> x - 2 </em>

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope of the line: m = \frac{y_{2} -y_{1} }{x_{2} -x_{1} }

y - y_{1} = m( x - x_{1} )

f(x) = mx + b (b - is y-intercept)

(0, - 2) Coordinates of y-intercept

(4, - 3)

m = \frac{-3+2}{4-0} = -\frac{1}{4}

<em>f(x) = </em>-\frac{1}{4}<em> x - 2</em>

if sarah rides her bike 5 miles north, then 3 miles east, what is the shortest distance she would have to travel to return to he
kykrilka [37]

Answer:

The answer to your question is the shortest distance is 5.83 mi

Step-by-step explanation:

Process

1.- We observe that the rides to north and after to east, so she is describing a right triangle where the shortest distance to come back to the starting point is the hypotenuse of that triangle.

                                 c² = a² + b²

                                 c² = 5² + 3²

                                 c² = 25 + 9

                                 c² = 34

                                 c = 5.83 mi

Help please if u can answer!:)
pentagon [3]

Answer:

ANGLE K IS 75 DEGREES

All the interior angles of a triangle ADD up to 180 degrees

lets add the angles!

6x-11+8x-29+3x-1

add like terms. all the x terms add up and all the constants as well

8x+6x+3x = 17x

-29-1-11 = -41

17x-41= 180 (-41 + 41 = 0 we do this to remove -41 from the left side of the equation to isolate x)

41+180 = 221

17x=221

221/17 = 13

x=13

so..

8 * 13 - 29 is the angle..

8*13 = 104

and 104-29 = 75

Angle K is 75 degrees! hope that helps..
