Kuta Software - Infinite Algebra 2 Name Systems of Two Equations Date Solve each system by graphing. 1) y=-3x + 4 y= 3x - 2 2) y
gogolik [260]

Answer:

Solution of the system of equations: (1, 1)

x = 1, y = 1

Explanation:

Given the below system of equations;

\begin{gathered} y=-3x+4 \\ y=3x-2 \end{gathered}

Note that the slope-intercept form of the equation of a line is given as;

y=mx+b

where m = slope of the line

b = y-intercept of the line

Comparing the given system of equations with the slope-intercept equation, we can see that, for the 1st equation (y = -3x + 4), the slope(m) = -3 and y-intercept(b) = 4 and for the 2nd equation, slope(m) = 3 and y-intercept(b) = -2.

Knowing the above information, let's go ahead and graph the system of equations;

From the above graph, the point of intersection of the two lines (1, 1) is the solution of the system of equation.

Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

Base = 16, height 64

Step-by-step explanation:

It's a triangle so u have to multiply it with 1/2 or divide by 2, x will equal both height and base:

(1/2)4x^2 = 512

Multiply 2 to both sides

4x^2 = 1024

divide both sides by 4

x^2 = 256

\sqrt{x^2} = \sqrt{256}

x = 16, base is 16 and height is 16(4) = 64

Alright this took me some time but I got it now, u might think why 16 and 64? 16 times 64 is not 512, but the equation for a triangles area is \frac{b h}{2} or b·h·1/2 , so if u plug the numbers into the equation it will equal 512:

16 · 64 · 1/2= 1024 · 1/2 = 512

The first three steps in writing f(x) = 40x + 5x2 in vertex form are shown.
Ymorist [56]

Answer:

third option

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

f(x) = 40x + 5x² ← express in standard form

f(x) = 5x² + 40x ← factor out 5 from each term

f(x) = 5(x² + 8x)

To complete the square

add/ subtract ( half the coefficient of the x- term)² to x² + 8x

f(x) = 5(x² + 2(4)x + 16 - 16)

f(x) = 5(x + 4)² + 5(- 16)

f(x) = 5(x + 4)² - 80
