Explain how darry and ponyboy play tug of war with soda in the outsiders
Helga [31]
Soda is the middle child, and as the most amiable of the three, he often gets caught in-between Ponyboy and Darry when they clash. Ponyboy and Darry often argue, and when they do, they both want Soda to be on their side, forgetting that he has his own problems too. In Chapter 12, this is clearly illustrated when Darry confronts Ponyboy about his behavior since the deaths of their friends. Ponyboy retorts, "You'd like that, wouldn't you" You'd like me just to get out. Well, it's not that easy, is it, Soda?" Soda responds by crying "Don't", and runs out of the house, shocking Darry and Ponyboy, who, in being so wrapped up in his own battles, have never considered that he had troubles of his own and needs their support sometimes too. Soda tells them, "I can't stand to hear y'all fight. Sometimes...it's like I'm the middleman in a tug o' war and I'm being split in half".

The following question refers to Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift. Which sentence describes the culture group interaction be
astraxan [27]

It is possible to argue that the sentence that best describes the culture group interactions between Gulliver and the Brobdingnagians is that they are kind to Gulliver but do not treat him as an equal. Despite the fact that he was taught their language by a nine years old girl - Glumdalclitch - who stood ¬not above 40 feet tall, being small for her age" his conversations with the King proves that the Brobdingnagians consider humans in general as below themselves, the King consider the English particularly "the most pernicious race of little odious vermin that nature ever suffered to crawl upon the surface of the earth". The king also scalds Gulliver when he tries to o interest the statesman in the use of gunpowder.

They find human institutions way below their own and they do not favour too much interaction or contact with humans, their laws are simple and straightforward, contrary to most human institutions; they value reason over emotions and it can be said that they are a race of mathematicians, being also profoundly interested in poetry and literature.
