Can air pollution cause localized deaths of a large number of people within just a few days? explain. (site 1)
JulsSmile [24]

Answer:

When air pollution began, it caused acid rain, damaging and destroying forests. It caused animals to become ill and potentially die as the acid rain ruined their environment. The air pollution also made around 400,000 people die faster than they would without air pollution.

Does this mechanism produce a change in individuals or populations? Explain
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

mechanism: the process of evoluton .

Evolution is the process by which veriety of modern organisms have descended from ancient ancestors. Evolution is responsible for both the remarkable similarities of all 0rganisms and the amazing diversity of that organisms but exactly how does it work? Fundamental of the process of evolution is genetic variation upon which selective forces can act in order for evolution to occur.

Examines the mechanisms of evolution focusing on:

•Decent : the genetic differences that are heritable and passed on to the next generation successfully.

• mechanisms of change: Mutation, migration (gene flow), genetic drift, and natural selection are act as mechanism of change .

• The random nature of genetic drift and their effects .

• How variation, differential reproduction, and heredity result in evolution natural selection .

• How different species can affect each other's evolution through co-evolution.

All of these mechanisms can cause changes in the frequencies of genes produce change in in populations, and so all of them are mechanisms of evolutionary change. However, natural selection and genetic drift (genetic flow) cannot operate unless there is genetic variation among organisms.

How did New Zealand's early ecology affect which traits were selected for/against in the kakapo's ancestors?
vazorg [7]

Answer:

Hairy skin which helps kakapo's ancestors to live in harsh climate of New Zealand.

Explanation:

New Zealand's early ecology greatly affected the population of kakapo's ancestors because the environmental conditions for kakapo's ancestors are favourable and there is no invasive species which reduces the population of kakapo's ancestors near to extinction. The traits that were selected for the kakapo's ancestors provides ability to live and survive in the temperate and subtropical climates of New Zealand. The flightless trait in this bird is also responsible for its extinction because this bird can't run away from their predators.
