During a wind storm, two guy wires supporting a tree are under tension. One guy wire is inclined at an angle of 35 degrees and u

nder 500 N of tension. The other other wire is inclined at 40 degrees to the horizontal and is under 400 N of tension. Determine the magnitude and direction of the resultant force on the guy wires

Resultant Vector: 554 N in the angle 80 degrees with the horizontal.

First, we must put each given in Polar form:
1. 500 N in the angle of 35 degrees with the horizontal
2. 400 N in the angle of 140 degrees with the horizontal in the same direction of the first guy wire (counterclockwise direction)

Then, add up the two polar forms, and it would give 553.59 in the angle of 79.26 with horizontal- counterclockwise direction. As estimated, 554 N in the direction of 80 degrees North of East.

Mark earned $240 in the first week and earns $680 in the fifth week. How much will he earn in the 20th week (suppose his earning
Irina18 [472]

Answer:

$ 2330

Step-by-step explanation:

a = $240

Earning at the end of fifth week = $ 680

increase in earnings per weak = ( 680 -240)/2     = 440/2 =110

d =110

l = a + (n-1)d

a20 = 240 + (19 * 110 ) = 240 + 2090 =   2330

How are rigid transformations used to justify the SAS congruence theorem?
Masja [62]

Answer:

When a shape is transformed by rigid transformation, the sides lengths and angles remain unchanged.

Rigid transformation justifies the SAS congruence theorem by keeping the side lengths and angle, after transformation.

Assume two sides of a triangle are:

And the angle between the two sides is:

When the triangle is transformed by a rigid transformation (such as translation, rotation or reflection), the corresponding side lengths and angle would be:

Notice that the sides and angles do not change.

Hence, rigid transformation justifies the SAS congruence theorem by keeping the side lengths and angle, after transformation.

Please help really fast :)
olasank [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The two smaller angles add up to the measure of the total angle, so

(like a lot of geometry) it is really just an Algebra 1 problem with a nice picture to go with it --->  (5x + 13°) + (3x + 33°) = 70°

8x + 46° = 70°

8x = 24°

x = 3°

There is no actual question shown, but I imagine you want one or more of the following:

x = 3°

∠ABC = 3(3°) + 33° = 9°+ 33° = 42°

∠CBD = 5(3°) + 13° = 15° + 13° = 28°

Hope this helps.
